My Archives: March 2005
Tuesday, March 1, 2005 I am finally watching my TiVo recording of the Oscars. I got pretty ticked off when, for best animated short, they did not show clips. For any of them. Not. Even. One. Second. They just did dopey camera zooms of the nominees sitting in the audience, and that was it. How about less musical numbers, a little less Chris Rock (thought I would NEVER say that last one), and a little more clips? That is one of the BIGGEST reasons people watch the Oscars: they want a taste of each movie. They show little montages of musical directors waving that stupid wand during the Original Score nominees, but they can't show a few seconds of each animated short? And weren't the live action short subjects also disrespected this way? These movie-making guys can't figure out how to edit them in (and editing is a movie-making skill if there ever was one)? Maybe if the presenters did not have walk about 100 yards to get to the podium, they would have more time.
SHOW THE CLIPS, YOU POMPOUS, FASCIST, FACE-LIFTED, WRITER-HATING MORONS!!!!!!!
